Horse Leg - April 2022

Made from a fallen tree after storm Eunice. A simple, wonky, and ugly mortise and tenon joint stool, using branches and a portion of the trunk.

I chose this tree as I thought it would be funny that when the park rangers were called in to move the log out of the path, they would be baffled by the missing chunk in the center of the trunk.

However, 5 months later, the tree is still here.

The final image is from September 22, the top of the tree has slowly moved away from the trunk, allowing people to wheel their bikes through the gap. This dumb joke has strangely resulted in some minute social good :)

Update - the tree is still there, only spaced further apart from each other.
